My Book of Exodus: Marley &Wailers' LP of Century hailed as definitive in Vibe
http://www.vibe.com/article/global-week-what-millennials-should-know-about-bob-marley-wailers-exodus
Writer Keith Murphy bigs up the immortal EXODUS album and references my book in so doing. I like his sensitive appreciation of a record that still means so much to me by an artist who I still consider to be my mentor in many ways.
Chronology-wise, I am pulling together some material from my UK PUNKY REGGAE PARTY SHOW tour... it soon come...

VIVIEN GOLDMAN’s PUNKY REGGAE PARTY SHOW - UK Tour - Oct 2014
BringingConsciousBack
Writer, post-punk musician, broadcaster, educator, – and now, this October, New York-based Brit Vivien Goldman is boldly bringing it all to the stage in the UK with her on woman “Punky Reggae Party Show.” This 60- minute, immersive multi-media presentation, followed by a 30-minute Q&A “Reasoning,” illuminates the brief, glorious time of the UK movement dubbed 'The Punky Reggae Party' by Bob Marley ; and its meaning today, when so many people seem to have given up on music as a form of communication and protest. Goldman will be accompanied by special surprise guest DJ’s at the shows.
The narrative will come alive through her experiences in music and popular culture, including work and time spent with most of the major players of the UK punk and post-punk scene, reggae in UK & JA, and the original hip-hop and rap scene in New York. Goldman will be showing images and playing music by artists like The Clash, The SexPistols, Bob Marley & the Wailers, PIL, Junior Murvin, Junior Delgado, Lee Perry, The Slits, the Raincoats, Aswad, and Steel Pulse.
A Londoner, these days Goldman teaches popular courses on rebel musicians such as Nigerian Afrobeat activist Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, David Bowie and Punk at New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music where she’s earned the nom d’academe ‘The Punk Professor’. Her years chronicling Bob Marley resulted in two books, latterly “The Book of Exodus” (3 Rivers Press/Random House.) And yes, some will recall her roots as a pioneering girl writer specializing in reggae and punk on music weeklies, including New Musical Express, when they were at their height of influence; and her post-punk career as the chanteuse of new wavers, The Flying Lizards, followed by further adventures in music, like the 45 “Launderette,” that she wrote, sang and co-produced with John Lydon.
These days, Goldman’s writing appears in The Guardian, The New York Times, OkayPlayer, The Pitchfork Review, the New Statesman, Prospect and many other publications/sites. She is a frequent guest on BBC Radio 5’s “Up All Night with Dotun Adebayo;” and her 2-hour special, “A Tale of 2 Punk Cities’ on London vs. NY Punk” is repeated on BBC Radio 6.
All Goldman’s multifarious endeavours are set to create a compelling, provocative soirĂ©e, with a chance to view rare images and enjoy some of the best – and most inspiring – music ever.
